Earth - Blue Planet
The place where we live is called Earth -It is also called Blue Planet.The name Blue Planet comes from the fact that from space, the oceans combined with our atmosphere make our planet look blue.70% of the Earth’s surface is covered by water.Earth is the third planet from the Sun. It takes eight and a half minutes for light to get from the sun to earth.It is also the fifth largest planet in the entire solar system.Earth is the only planet known to have life.
The Earth’s atmosphere is composed mainly of nitrogen (77%), oxygen (21%), argon (.93%), and carbon dioxide (0.03%).Earth atmosphere is divided into 4 layers -Troposphere, Stratosphere,Mesoshpher & Thermosphere. Tropshere is the lowest in which we live & Thermosphere is the highest.Aeroplanes fly in the Stratosphere whereas sattelites orbit in the highest layer i.e. Thermosphere.Birds & hot baloons fly in the lowest layer ,which is troposphere.
Earth has 3 layers,Crust (upper part),Mantle(middle part) & Core (inner-most part),out of these Crust is the lightest. As you move down in the earth interiors, temprature rises by 1 degree at every 60 feet. Out of three inside layers of the earth, Crust is the lightest.
The Earth orbits (revlove) around the Sun in approximately 365 days .The earth also roates around its axis (an imaginary line in the centre of it).It completes one spin in 24 hours. Climate changes because of the Earth's revolution around the Sun whereas day & night happen due to Earth's rotation around its axis.
The Earth is the only planet ,where all living beings (humans,plants,animals ) can live..
