Punjab govt approves 12 development schemes worth Rs 38 billion

The Punjab Government on Tuesday approved twelve development schemes with an estimated cost of Rs 38099.649 million.

These schemes were approved in the 29th meeting of Provincial Development working party of current fiscal year 2013-14 presided over by the Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Irfan Elahi.

The approved development schemes include the acquisition of Land for Establishment of Garment Industrial Zone (GIZ) in Sheikhupura for the cost of Rs 2538.83 million, Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metrobus Project, Land Acquisition and Shifting of Utilities at the cost of Rs 2957.000 million, Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metrobus Project, Package-I: Flashman Hotel Committee Chowk (length-2.9 km) at the cost of Rs 5670.671 million, Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metrobus Project, Package-II: Committee Chowk to Sixth Road (length-3.2 km) at the cost of Rs 4937.757 million, Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metrobus Project, Package-III: Sixth Road to IJP Road (length-2.5 km) at the cost of Rs 4460.421 million, Design, Supply, Fabrication, Installation, Commissioning, Testing and Operation & Maintenance of Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Filtration Plants under Saaf Pani Project (SPP) in Thirty (30) Districts of Punjab at the cost of Rs 8567.980 million, Provision of Ambulances for DHQs / THQs and Ambulances for Cardiac Patients at the cost of Rs 433.702 million, Provision of Missing Facilities/Specialties for Up-Gradation of DHQ Hospital Dera Ghazi Khan into Teaching Hospital at the cost of Rs 2390.830 million, Construction of Ministers’ Block at old Labour Department Site in Punjab Civil Secretariat, Lahore at the cost of Rs 851.189 million, Construction of Judicial Complex at Wazirabad, District Gujranwala at the cost of Rs 379.598 million and Preparatory Work For Ravi River Front Urban Development Project (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 490.548 million.
