News IHC seeks reply from govt over Lodhi’s sacking

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday asked the federal government to submit a reply regarding the sacking of Khalid Naeem Lodhi from the position of defence secretary, Geo News reported.

Justice Riaz Khan of High Court was hearing the case today. During the hearing of the petition filed by Naeem Lodhi challenging his dismissal, his counsel Munir Paracha said Lodhi’s sacking was illegal and should be canceled. He requested the court to declare the order of Lodhi’s removal invalid.

Subsequently, IHC’s Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan directed the federal government to submit a reply in this respect.

The hearing was then adjourned to the second week of February.

Naeem Lodhi has made president, prime minister, secretary establishment and acting secretary defence party in the case challenging his sacking.
