As-Salaam alaikum,
The Noble Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, has said:--

"These hearts rust just as iron rusts; and indeed they are polished through
the recitation of the Qur'an."
(Irshad al-Qulub, pg. 78)

In view of this, we should most of the time be busy with Zikrullah, then our heart(s) will be polished and we will start receiving the Light of Rasoolullah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, directly in our heart. The fa'iz comes. Without you knowing from where or how, some meaning will appear in your heart and you will say, 'Ah, I never thought of it this way.' Ilm will come.

They say ilm of heart comes from 2 ways: either from inside, ilm-Ladunni, not contaminated, no distress, pure, or it comes from the physical senses that carry dirt, branches, leaves. Whatever comes from outside is dirty stuff, but from within is pure/clean.

If you are busy with Zikrullah, that ilm will come from within, then you will be inspired by angels that throw ilm into your heart by the order of Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
