ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued contempt notice to Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in the NRO implementation case and directed him to appear personally before the bench on January 19, Geo News reported.
"In these circumstances, we are left with no option, as a first step, to issue a show cause notice," the notice issued by the seven-member bench stated.
"The prime minister should appear personally in court on Jan. 19."
The notice has been issued to the PM under Section 17. A seven-member larger bench of the SC resumed hearing of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) Implementation case.
The hearing of the NRO implementation case was adjourned till January 19.
