A french polish manicure gives the perfect finish to any outfit. It will not only give your hands a polished look it will give them an added sophistication. File and shape your nails first. You will require

  • [*=left]Base Coat (either beige, pink or clear) – protects the nail from discolouration
    [*=left]French Polish White
[*=left]Top Coat – gives a shiny finish and also seal colour and ensure it lasts longer
Make sure your nail polish is fresh. It should be thin and easy to apply. Before opening, mix the polish in the bottle by turning it upside down and rolling it between your palms. Don’t shake the bottle as this will produce bubbles.

  • 1. Apply a thin layer of base coat which can either be clear, translucent pink or beige. Leave to dry for 2-3 minutes.
    2. Take your white polish and sweep from one side of the free nail edge to the other, trying to shadow the natural nail smile as much as possible. It's easier to do this if you don't hold your brush straight over your nail, but at a slight angle. Leave to dry for at least 3-4 minutes.
    3.
While completing a french polish manicure you tend to get white on the surrounding skin, the shorter the nail the more likely it is to get white on the skin. Take a baby bud soaked in nail polish remover. and take the white off the skin. Don't worry you can wash off any white residue easily after your nails are dry.
    4. Apply a clear top coat to finish.
The secret to perfect polish is to apply thin layers and leave as much time as possible to dry between each layer.
After your french polish manicure leave your nails to dry for about 5 minutes you can then apply creative solar oil to help dry the nail quicker and also to ensure any little touches to the nail in the first vital drying hour will slide off rather than smudge. Be aware - nail polish takes a good hour to dry and harden properly.
This takes practice but you can do it. Good Luck!
