Shah Jahan, (January 5, 1592–January 22, 1666), who was the 5th Mughal Emperor/king, had 3 wives.( Akbarabadi Mahal, Akbarabadi Mahal, Kandahari Mahal and Mumtaz Mahal). Mumtaz Mahal was his finest and the most adoring wife. She dies during giving birth to her 14th child in in Burhanpur in 1631. She was only 38 when she died. Shah Jahan felt very sad and inconsolable after his most loving wife’s death. And he decided to build a mansion in the memory of Mumtaz Mahal. He wanted his wife to be most famous in the world. That famous that each and everybody know about her endlessly in this world.
It took 22 years to complete the whole construction of Taj Mahal. About 20.000 labors and 1000 elephants worked hardly to construct this magnificent monument as perfect as possible. The platform and catacomb took unevenly 12 years to complete. The rest of the Mahal took 10 years to complete as Shah Jahan’s order. This miraculous complex is made by white marble and stands on a sandstone platform. The tomb of King Shah Jahan is next to the tomb of her Loving wife, Queen Mumtaz Mahal.
