Asalam-o-alaikum Wrwb!
Hope All are doing Good.
Well Inspired by Hoorain Quizzes I also thought to start something like that, which would be much more than fun, means it include english knowledge.
its All about English Language Grammer, idioms and Vocabulary, where I will post a Paragraph of English sentence or maybe an idiom or word where you'll be examine for the Punctuation, Spelling, Capitalization of each sentence or word, that you can not only answer the quiz but also improve your English. At the same time you can exchange experiences on how to learn languages and a whole lot more.
Directions:
I'll post a Sentence (which will need correction) with 5 given options.
All you have to do is just Highlight a reasonable option which will either fit the paragraph or which would be the correct form according to Grammer.
This thread is not only for those who are expert in english or can speak English very well, So it does not mean that those who dont know much about english cant participate in this quiz but actually they are firstly welcome because they'll get an oppertunity to solve their problems and errors of english, if they answer right or wrong, but their mistakes will be solved by knowing the right answers and its explination. so its a learning process to all of us.
In Addition I would like to Suggest, those who answer the quiz or choose the correct answer should also define its grammatical points. Below I'll Show you how.
Example:
Question 1: Some Parents Look forward to there Children Leaving Home at last.
What Correction Should be made to sentence?
(1) Change Parents to Parent's.
(2) Change look to Looks.
(3) Replace to with Too.
(4) Replace there with their.
(5) no correction is necessary.
Correct Answer: (4) Replace there with their.
Explanation: Option (4) is correct because it replaces there with their, which is the possessive form: parents look forward to their children leavning home.
Option (1) is incorrect because the possessive form for parents is not needed.
Option (2) is incorrect because it gives the plural subject Parents which itself is a singular verb.
Option (3) incorrectly replaces to with its homonym too, which means "Also".
So Explanation is needed, doesn't matter if you cant give such long explination but atleast you have to explain the correct answer, that why have you chosen this as a correct one.
I hope you got the point, and those who are interested to post their questions too so most welcome.
let's Start now.
