There is no second opinion about the need of Independent Judiciary in Pakistan but the way this issue of deposed judges has been politicized is very bad which is turning this legal movement into a political movement.
PML-N leader Nawaz sharif and Lawyers have announced a sit-in after Long March in Islamabad which will create further panic and chaos in case they prolong the sit-On one side Nawaz sharif is saying that we will not do anything to destabilize present Government but on other side he and his supporters are doing everything to disturb the present democratic set upSupporters of EX-chief justice ifthikaar choudry present him as savior of democracy and symbol of independent judiciary but I see this whole issue in very different perspective. Iam not a legal expert but iam 100% clear about one thing that if President Musharraf is responsible for missing persons, steel mill case or other issues then indirectly Ex-chief justice is also responsible because he is the person who validated the coup d`etat by Musharraf back in 1999 and he also took oath under PCO.In this whole issue one thing we don’t understand why Mr Nawaz Sharif is only singling out Justice dogar as PCO judge as both judges took oath on PCO and both judges validated dictator??
This is the time when our politicians should show some maturity and let the Parliament decide this issue and if Parliament restores the deposed judges then no problem, this decision will be acceptable to everyone, but what is this? On one side Mr Nawaz sharif is great fan of supremacy of Parliament. but on other side he is destablizing the Parliament Here Government also has to take some steps like order of Governor rule in Punjab Governor Rule in Punjab and let the Parliament decide who should be Next CM of Punjab, should lift ban from Geo television and should release lawyers and activists of different parties.Government should allow the lawyers to protest in Islamabad which is their democratic right but lawyers cant be allowed to prolong the sit-in which will add to miseries of the general public because it is fault of public if judges are not restores and its economic social fallout will be very bad,country already has lost business of billion of Rupees due to strikes.
