What is mineral makeup? Is it any different from the previous brands you are using? It was called “mineral makeup” because products are processed and made out of all natural, finely ground minerals from the earth, without any of the chemicals, dyes, and preservatives found in traditional makeup. Different brands make use of different recipes but generally contain the compounds: micronized titanium dioxide, silk mica, hydrated silica, micronized zinc oxide that all have natural sunscreens and natural anti-inflammatory properties.
They usually come in different shades and are in powder form foundation or concealer.
There are also eye and cheek colors, lipsticks and lip gloss that are mineral based makeup for your skin.
This makeup is also non-comedogenic, which means they do not clog pores that can be sources of acne eruption; it also allows the skin to breathe making it supple and young looking.
In addition to their organic contents, they also contain hydrating, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory compounds making your skin protected.
Mineral makeup is also good for people who are prone to allergies or with sensitive skin because mineral makeup contains no irritating dyes or perfumes. They are purely organic and contain no talc and other fillers that can both be harmful to the skin.
Another good selling point of mineral makeup is their lightweight feel and consistency, unlike traditional makeup that leaves you feeling greasy, unnatural and thick. Mineral makeup also gives a light matte finish without clogging your pores.
Here are a few mineral foundation easy to follow steps to create a matte, flawless look.
Step 1: Make sure your face is clean before applying any makeup.

Step 2: Use a moisturizer. It can be one of your own or one that is made by the same company as your mineral makeup. Let it dry thoroughly before you move on to the next step.

Step 3: Apply a small amount of concealer in areas you want to hide or lift. You can use one you already have on hand or choose one that matches your skin tone.

Step 4: Put a little of your mineral powder into the products lid or on a clean piece of wax paper.

Step 5: Dip a foundation or kabuki style brush lightly into the mineral powder. If you get too much on the brush, tap it off back into the lid or on the paper.

Step 6: Apply the brush lightly to the face in soft, circular strokes often referred to as buffing. Repeat the process if necessary to ensure complete coverage. The technique to achieving the natural look is by layering, applying a small amount one at a time until you are happy with the coverage of the foundation.

Step 7: Apply a setting powder if desired, using the same technique as described in Step 6.

Step 8: Apply the rest of your makeup as desired.
